I have a passion for helping others reach their personal goals. I have worked as a teacher in public schools and as an educator in the medical field, which has led me to my career as a mental health therapist. I have a passion for working with children and their families. I have specialized training in trauma informed treatment modalities and recently adopted a mini therapy pig named Molly who works full time with me. Molly is a perfect partner when working with children as her laid back personality and gentle disposition puts children at ease. Often times kids find the counseling experience anxiety producing at first, Molly helps them feel comfortable. Molly also helps support kids with a traumatic past be able to process and move on from their past trauma by helping them to regulate emotions during sessions. I have experience working with ages 2 years through young adulthood and families. Molly and I also work well with adults who have lived through trauma or want to make changes. Let's face it counseling can be hard and it can bring about overwhelming emotions for some; Molly and I offer support needed to help people navigator this journey and meet their therapeutic goals. I believe in a person centered approach, which means I believe we are all our own experts and I am here as a therapist to provide education on symptoms as well as techniques for managing symptoms or difficult behaviors, act as guide by providing feedback and clinical observatsions, and most importantly offer support and acceptance of all clients through their personal journey. I provide an eclectic approach that pulls from many different evidenced based treatment modalities to help clients achieve treatment goals. I see my role as a partner who has specialized training that allows me to provide education, feedback, and acceptance with my clients in the driver seat telling me their individualized needs, concerns, and goals.
